Baudot Code Translator

About

The original Baudot code was invented by Émelie Baudot in 1870. It was a 5-bit code that became known as the International Telegraph Alphabet No 1 (ITA1). In 1901, the code was improved by Donald Murray. Murray designed the code to minimize the wear on the machinery. He assigned the most frequently used symbols and letters to the codes with fewest punched holes.
